Kidney disease screening day

For World Kidney Day, Kolda Regional Hospital held a special day of information, awareness raising and screening devoted to kidney health. The whole population of Kolda was invited to take part in this initiative, which aimed to build understanding of kidney disease and encourage prevention.

The day took place on Thursday 12 March 2026 from 9am at the hospital's Nephrology and Dialysis department, under the theme "Kidney health: caring for everyone while protecting the planet."

The programme included a conference on chronic kidney disease, awareness raising and screening sessions, and an open day at the dialysis unit. The event strengthened public understanding of kidney disease, its risk factors and the importance of early screening.
