International Nurses Day

Kolda Regional Hospital pays tribute to its nurses, marked this year by a large blood donation drive in support of the hospital blood bank.

International Nurses Day

Celebrated every 12 May around the world, International Nurses Day is a special occasion to pay tribute to the women and men who devote their working lives to patients, with professionalism, humanity and dedication.

Kolda Regional Hospital wishes to salute the remarkable commitment of its nurses, true pillars of the health system, for the many acts of care they carry out every day for the hospital and the wider community.

This year the celebration was participatory and built on solidarity, through a large blood donation campaign organised by the National Association of State Registered Nurses, in order to strengthen the hospital blood bank and help save lives. All staff at Kolda Regional Hospital were mobilised to make the day a success.

The hospital director, Mr Makhan Danfakha, warmly welcomed this exemplary civic initiative and offered his congratulations and encouragement to all nursing staff for a gesture of great human value.
